GMO Statement
Norco Foods a division within Norco Co-operative Ltd is a food manufacturing group specialising in the production of ice cream and drinking milk products sold both nationally and internationally.
Norco Co-operative Ltd has had a long time policy of not using genetically engineered ingredients within the manufacturing of ice cream and milk products nor receiving milk from genetically engineered cows.
Norco Foods continues to be committed to manufacturing products that are free from genetically modified organisms in accordance of the FSANZ standard 1.5.2 and in order to achieve this outcome, Norco Foods has procedures in place through our NPD, Purchasing and QA departments to monitor, control and audit ingredients into and within the manufacturing process ensuring their GM free status.
Milk supplied by our local shareholder farmers is under the strict quality control guidelines of the HACCP programs and the standards found within the Norco Co-operative Suppliers Manual. These guidelines raise the issue of genetically modified organisms and recommend where practical, the use of GM-free feed for all dairy cattle.
Norco Foods is highly aware of the concerns within the community and within the retail market, and is committed to continually ensure that the ingredients used within our manufacturing plants are GMO free and monitor ourselves against the set regulatory requirements.
